#8 Löwenburg Castle
Built in the 18th century, this beautiful fairytale castle may have inspired the many Disney World castles that have been constructed in various parts of the world. Located in Kassel, a charming German town in Bavaria, it was built by William IX of Hesse-Kassel in the style of a medieval English palace or knight’s castle. The garden still features fake Roman aquaducts, a fake Greek temple and even fake castle ruins. Badly damaged during World War II, the castle was rebuilt and is now a museum.
